This here ship is Serenity. She's mine. You do anything to her or my crew and you'll have me to answer to.
You wouldn't like that much, I promise you that.
We work the outer rims, doing this and that, and avoiding the Alliance. I ain't too fond of Alliance. Fought in the war. Was at Serenity Valley. Fought on the losing side, but not the wrong side. No, we ain't fond of government at all.
But we're not looking for trouble.

Language Caveat: I don't speak Chinese, but my muse does so we've made a compromise by stealing bits of pinyin ffrom Firefly transcripts, the alternative Chinese dictionary, and a Basic Chinese Vocabulary book I picked up because I might just happen to be obsessed.
But, obsession doesn't mean I got the words quite right. My apologies when I mangle the langauge, as I'm sure I will.
According to my book "Dasheng" with a lot of symbols over in the letters I can't reproduce on LJ means (in) a loud voice. I do hope thats right. I'd hate to START by messing up his lj name... =)
This journal was a participant in a writing community called Theatrical Muse which explores characterization etc. Capt Mal Reynolds is from the television series "Firefly" created by Joss Whedon ( All Hail Joss!) and given added depth by the episodes written by many wonderful writers but especially Tim Minear (All Hail Tim). No copyright infringement intended, we just wanted to play a bit with their characters that FOX killed by cancelling the show. Sniffle.
Most icons made from screen caps from the screen cap section of Can't Take the Sky which we now worship as that when we cap things ourselves...we get a whee bit carried away. If you think 800 caps of a four minute scene is excesssive, at least.
